As parents, we naturally celebrate the "A" on a math test or a high reading score. Academic achievement is vital, and it’s something we hold to the highest standard here at LBACS. But if a child grows up to be brilliant but lacks integrity, kindness, or resilience, have we truly prepared them for the world?
In today's fast-paced, digital culture, children are bombarded with messages about status, performance, and self-interest. That’s why character education isn't an "extracurricular" activity for us.
When we intentionally teach fruit of the Spirit, like patience, gentleness, and self-control, inside the classroom, three incredible things happen:
A Safer Social Environment: When students are taught to see each other as uniquely made in the image of God, bullying decreases and collaborative, encouraging friendships thrive.
Greater Academic Resilience: Students with strong character don't give up when a concept gets tough. They understand the value of perseverance and view mistakes as part of growth, not failure.
A Firm Foundation: They develop an internal compass. Long after they graduate, the values of honesty, compassion, and faith will guide their decisions when no one else is watching.
Education is more than filling a bucket with facts. It’s about lighting a fire of truth and purpose.
